I only ask because all I ever get is people whose surnames begin with A or B. Haven't the people at GR twigged that their great idea is fundamentally flawed? Anybody with an Allen or Brown in their tree - even if they are as distant as can be imagined (and that will be most of us) will find the system is total cr*p.

I've had every name including Williams and Wyatt in hotmatches. I beleive that thet start at A and send you the first X hundrend untill you get every thing BUT if Joe Bloggs uploads a new version of his tree, you go back to A for the matches with his tree.

For married in relatives with names like Brown, Smith or Johnson I have added an extra letter to their name. It has worked so far - no matches. Anne.

I don't get my hot matches when you do....I probably won't get them until Tuesday. Wonder why that is? I have found that the names I have gotten have been all over the board, though my first couple of lots were M's. Been lucky so far with Smith - only have one in my tree and she was a foundling, so not really a name I need to get matches for. If it ever comes up, I think I'll delete her - she's on my hubby's tree anyway!! And I've found that these matches aren't that great for those people you have made a guesstimate at the birth year - just matches the year you chose.

I get mostly C's and D's in my Hot Matches. I have no idea what's happened to the rest of the alphabet. All I keep getting are pages and pages of Clarke's or Davies'. Very frustrating.
