Im presuming that Holloway could well be this ladys married name, and that she started out as an Austin/Coleman. The possibility of V being her real first name is pretty slim as the other three daughters names are definately correct to certificates. I dont think Henry had children prior to meeting Ellen, so a dughter in law to him would not work, as no sons. Very very very confused. You would think with it being realtively recent it would be easy to find, but not so! |

iIf she were a trapeze artiste perhaps she adopted a more exotic name? Have a go googling for trapeze artistes in case a V Holloway shows up. |

Or possibly 'V' is a middle initial,or alternatively one of those cases where someone is universally known by a different name that they use everyday. Glen |

maybe stepdaughter is a mistake for daughter in law? |

Can anyone make any suggestions to help me solve this mystery? My great uncle was a circus performer and died in the ring. His name was Henry Moxon, and he died in 1951. He was married to a Ellen Burdett Coleman (her first marriage was to a Henry Austin.) She had three children by her first husband, Cissie, Olive, and Florence.(bear with me - this is going somewhere!!!) On Henrys death certificate, it shows that the person reporting his death was a V.Holloway - step daughter. I wrote to the address shown on the certificate, and the current tenant kindly replied telling me that the lady who had lived there had been a trapeze artist, so this all fits. However, I cant see who this 'V' could be. The initial doesnt match the names of any of Ellens known children. Can anyone come up with a bright idea to help me identify her??? Thanks |
