Hi June Try having a look at www(.)ellisisland(,)org You can register for free and get information from passenger lists. It is very interesting giving details of destination, who paid for fare and in some cases height , eye colour, etc depending on the year amongst other things, Cheers Clare :-)

If he was a seaman he would have been listed in the census as such, and what ship would have been on at the time, if it was in British waters. Otherwise take a look at this site: http://www.mts.net/~bydesign/RUS/Guide.htm Regards - Terry

Hi, There are a sites which have transcribed passenger lists.....try googling, something might come up lists I have looked at before often give age and other details. Deb

I know that my grandfather, Stephen Harrison or Stephen Muxlow, born 1856 in Lincolnshire, travelled quite a lot. I dont know the ships that he sailed on. Does anyone know how I can trace him without the names of the ships? June xx
