Hi Not sure if this helps, but it was quite common for people to marry in the brides parish and if they did you can download all the Takeley parish records online at - http://holytrinitytakeley(.)moonfruit(.)com/ Remove brackets They have marriages from 1691 to the 2004! You could also have a look and see if any Susannah's were born there in 1811/1812 Deb |

I am actually getting very confused on this one. A son James I have one born 1858 then another in 1864. I know he married Fanny Curtis. His mother and father show as the same ages in the census saying b1812 but just no trace. I have so far found 1 william clayden marrying in 1838 in saffron walden but no way to find out who he married without ordering the cert. So I may just have to do that if at least to rule it out Thanks for the help 0) |

Hi, Yes the birth certificate would definately give you the mothers maiden name. Maybe they married before 1837 in which case there won't be a marriage certifcate. Sam x |

I have found william Clayden on 1841 census showing his wife as susannah b 1812 Takely Essex. William is from Hatfied Bd Oak, essex. He stays with her right through until he dies in 1882 and she dies 1896 - But for the life of me i cannot find this marriage. Their first child is born in 1840, in hatfield bd oak. I cant order the marriage cert without finding the marriage. If I was to order one childs birth cert, would that definately give me the mothers maiden name? |
