I was adopted, how do I trace my mothers family, I only have her fathers name from her marriage certificate. Also have looked up her birth only to find 4 born with the same name as her on record but no fathers name. I dont know where to go from here. Also how to trace, (but NOT contact)any children she might have had. |

When you say you have found 4 births with no fathers name do you mean you have the certs or have found the birth references. Glen |

Hi Ann, Do you have your adoption records yet? If not then it maybe a good place to start. Try to locate the adoption agency where the adoption took place or try the local social services. Your adoption file may hold some clues to help with your search. Best wishes Jd |

Hi So you have her age from the marriage cert ? and there are 4 entries for a birth under that name in that year? Then you could try looking for a marriage backwards from the birth for a couple of years, for someone with your grandfathers name, to a woman who's maiden name should correspond with one of the births that you may have found out of the 4, hope this is clear enough for you. You will not be able to add your BM family after your birth unless you can find the correct person to follow. Sheila |
