Looking for Information on Apprenticeships

I am wondering if there is any site where I could look up apprenticeship records for a watchmaker in about 1842? Does anyone know where I could get any information at all on this? Many thanks. Maggie |

Thank you Sue, I would be grateful. I am trying to find out about William Edwards b. c1822 St. Lukes. He is listed as a watchmaker/jeweler on the censuses and I was hoping there would be some kind of record of an apprenticeship for him. I would think about 1837 or so, depending on how old they might have been when they began their apprenticeships. Anything you can find would be wonderful. Cheers Maggie |

You'd need to check this, because I have no idea how complete it is or the time span, but I think that the City of London Record Office holds freedom records. |
