hiya, I saw these in my local pc world store and was unsure which to get Family tree maker is priced form about £9.99 upto £69 for a deluxe version |

WDYTYA is really the 2005 version. The main difference between the two is when you start to merge internet results into your tree( it shows what your source material is) With the 2005 version the search does not have the 'soundex' facility and can't cope with a bad mistranscribed name,the 2006 version is a little more forgiving. I use 2005 but the WDYTYA deluxe version has a couple of extra discs with some limited parish records,and they aren't that much use. Glen |

I think the Who Do You think You Are version is the same as Family Tree Maker 2005. The deluxe versions will contain data discs but I think most people would agree that these are rarely of use. Some versions give a one month or three month free subscription to Ancestry. |

The 2006 collectors edition (69.95 one) comes with a 6-month subscription to ancestry and a few (not very useful) discs. |

If you have already got FTM 2005, then you can purchase an upgrade disc which will upgrade to FTM 2006 - cost is about 21 pounds which also includes the Charting Companion (TWR Computing) Elaine |
