Thanks. I've been over the site and read all the hints. I think a researcher is the answer.

Hi Elizabeth It looks as if you need a researcher for this. I think that this is the relevant research guide: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/rdleaflet.asp?sLeafletID=56 but it looks as if the finding aids aren't online.

William Huband born abt 1790. Marries Agnes Oswell 1818 Plymouth His occupation on childrens’ baptisms: Serjeant Royal Marines 1819 Private Royal Marines 1831 Pensioner 1833 He died in 1833. All East Stonehouse. Presume he was pensioned off from RM. I have done online searches at National Archives and A2A. Which one does the records? What exactly do I need? I have emailed both but no reply. Is his occupation a commissioned officer or non-commissioned? Thanks.
