Last night i went to the M E N at manchester to watch the band THE EAGLES. and they were fantastic !! but how sad is this. JOE WALSH one of the band members and a fantastic guitarist said that while he had been in manchester he had visited a feww old churches and libraries and discovered that his family came from england and that they spent some time in manchester. he said this was in the 1800's and his family was orginally from preston but spent some time ( about a year he thinks ) in manchester and then emmigrated to usa from liverpool. i was changed from rock chick to 'oh my god i wish i had names and ages etc..' i needed to do an census look up !! his birthday is november 20th 1947 in wichita kansas usa. for the rest of the night i had visions of him in the central library in manchester looking through old parish records and visiting churches etc.. but apart from that it was a truly fantastic night love linda x x x |

Nothing sad about that! I love Joe Walsh. Being interested in genealogy is only an extension of being interested in people. How come I never meet any rock and roll people when I go to archives (except for GR members, of course!)? |

it seemed strange to think that someone with all that money and talent etc.. was interested in where he came from - just like all of us . we all have a past and it intrigues us all. its something money cant buy and we cant change it love linda x x |

Maybe you could ask to see the CCTV from outside the Manchester Library or RO and see him popping in......Or go in there and ask if anyone saw him......... Maybe the librarian would say, ''Who????'' lol Hubby is playing some of their stuff now!! Merry |
