Hi, I've been looking for the marriage of my GG Grandfather. He was Henery Staniforth born c1838 in Darnall Sheffield. his wife is called Sarah E Staniforth in the census. She might have been married before as they have 4 children with the surname Frith. I can't find the combination of Staniforth/Frith anywhere. I'm guessing as the youngest Frith was two on the 1881 census that the marriage would've been something like 1879 onwards. My eyes are sore from looking so if anyone would like a challenge, I'd appreciate it. lisa

The marriage cert should give mums maiden name (Ive had dopes in my lot who put their widowed name and nothing else) If she doesnt, her fathers name will be there anyway.

LIsa, There's a stack of Frith males marrying Sarahs around the right time. Do you have Sarah on any earlier census? The kids names might give a clue to the fathers.

One little clue there is that your Staniforth has a sister called Sarah living with them in 81 (I think). So if you can go back a bit to find a family with Henry and Sarah as kids .......... Though I guess you are more interested in the Friths?
