I have found the web site www.cwgc.org a fantastic free resource and found lots of useful info on casualties of both world wars, well worth a look, even gives names and addresses of casualties next of kin |

I agree Steve it's a really good website. The good thing about it is thats it's all free. There's a lot of websites out there charging you to look at the same information. |

It's one of a number of potentially very useful sites listed on your homepage. Denis. |

I love this site aswell cos if you find your rellies on there, there is a certificate thing that you can print off about their death which states, for example: 'Joe Smith, son of Harry and Martha. He leaves his wife Mary and two sons' and sometimes an address aswell. Which is great and helps you with names and things if you didn't know them already. Well worth taking a look for those of you that haven't checked it out yet. |

Sorry to interrupt but... Elizabeth - Have your parents fixed when they're going to Thiepval? It's going to be VERY visited this year because it's the 90th Anniversary of the big battle there, and there are special services etc. - especially in July. If you follow the links on the CWGC, there's some info there about it. Christine |

A thing about the CWGC site that I don't think everyone realises is that it's not just deaths on active service that are listed there. Civilian deaths are also on the site provided they were due to the war (that is, deaths through bombing etc.) I found the record of an aunt, uncle and their five children, all killed when their air raid shelter took a direct hit in 1940.
