Whipped on here quickly whilst OH has nipped out for something. I keep wondering if Kat is right and that could possibly be him. Names right, job, rightish - Cant be my Mary though as I have her with all the kids in the 1841 when she is a widow. Could be a first wife and kids though. I shall have a fiddle later to see if he were married earlier/death for a Mary prior to 1850. Very grateful Merry and Kat. |

Youre a bloody genius arent you. I tried Flora with no names. I tried Flora with Summers spelt Sommers - but I didnt try Flora with an o and only one m. Oh, no doubt it is her Merry and I bet the unknown lodger is him! So if she is that old, probably his mum. Thanks kiddo, you really are wasted making mashed potato by the seaside. Im off to bed now and will resume activities tomorrow - oh damn, OH is home then. Nite kids, my eyes are so blurred I can hardly see tonight, I think its not just age but the sun that effects them. Oh so sorry Kat, only just seen your kind input. No, I dont think so, sorry. I looked at a number of them but when they appear to be married with kids ..............It definitely says bachelor on the cert and in 1851 the only kids with them are the two younges of Marys marriage to Tom Edroff. Having said that, suppose a previous wife and kids could have died and he put bachelor by mistake. Tom died of typhoid, so I guess there was a lot of it in that area. Mmmm................. Thank you so much - as always - time for this old dear to get o bed. |

I have the death of Thomas Michael Edroff in 1838 in Stepney. The informant is FLORA SUMMERS. 12 years later IN 1850 Thomas' widow marries a WILLIAM SUMMERS. William is shown as a bachelor and a plumber, glazier house painter. In the 1851 he is married to Mary Hanson Edroff and has 2 of the Edroff kids(transcribed Caroff) living with him at Essex Street, St George in the East. He is shown as housepainter journeyman born c1814 Middx. Im blowed if I can find Flora or William (whom I assume is related) in the 1841? |
