	The father's name and occupation should be recorded on the cert. Bear in mind that many 'deceased' fathers were dreamed up for the occasion.......to save face! Reg

	It all depends what they told the vicar/registrar at the time.Ihave a few where the father is not noted as deceased but i know him to be,i also have some where the father is not noted at all but he is quoted on birth certs and found with the child in the census. Glen
