Though married they were in separate houses in the 51,he down as an Innkeeper,she now found as innkeepers daur in the next village,names match to marriage details.Even know the pub details via Norfolkpubs. Finally a breakthrough!! Glen |

The Flowerpot,Swaffham Rd,Gt Dunham. Closed in 1912 and found on the norfolk pubs site,complete with matching landladies details matching with the census. Another name to add for her mum,shame it's a Harrison.(over a 1000 on the Norfolk transcription site) Interestingly a good chunk of the Elmer clan went to Shoreditch working with the railways. Glen |

Thats wonderful. And isnt the Norfolk Pubs site brilliant. I found some on mine on there running pubs in Norwich. Well done Glen. Is this Martha btw? |

It's Elizabeth,mother to Martha,died quite young in 1863 and the cause of my problems with the 71 census. Finding this today though has cleared up why Martha's father is listed as an innkeeper in the 51,and why i couldn't find anything on the Norfolk pubs site for him as a landlord anywhere. I'm guessing he must have been helping out at some point, Also answered the mystery of the family farm in the 81 census.A completely different family running it after the death of the head of the family. Another small step forwards. Glen |

hiya, sorry to butt in but does anyone know of similar site for bristol??? clifton area?? i have a rellie who was publican/beer house keeper, and for the life of me i cant find her on 1901 cen, just wondered if i could track her in same way, have tried google but wasnt very helpful, either that or i'm not looking right, many thanks Julie |

I dont know Dark. When I first looked for mine I googled Norfolk Pub society and I was lucky that the brill Norfolk site came up. I guess you could have another google or you could try to find out if the records office have the licensee application? Whats her name - just in case any of us strike lucky for you. |
