BMD index is a combined index,personally i never merge the info into my tree because the list of sources is just a long list with the ancestry name by it each time,and no ref numbers recorded. With census details merged the picture gets confusing with several 'born abt' references which can change by a year or two. The way i record the details is via a note for the individuals quoting reference number,district etc,or a note of which census images are held and add them to scrapbooks. If you view your sources when merged it is just a meaningless list with a cross reference number to a name in your tree,mine got to over 200 and didn't tell you anything of great value. Glen |

Aw poo!!! So what is the point of the customize thing then pls?? Does anyone know? I can ask it to add marriage indexes or whatever - but I still get everything??? Am I missing the point?? Thanks for replying. |

I don´t think you can search for just marriages The marriages are part of the BMD Index, and as this is the search you are using you will be shown all three, that is births, marriages and deaths. |

How can you refine the web searches? I just want to search for marriages but when you do the customize thing, it still finds all births, marriages and deaths - what am I doing wrong pls??? |
