Am I doing something wrong - advice on sending doc

Hello, I have been sending certificates and other documents to NZ but the person I send them to can't read them. I scan them then attach them to an email. Am I doing something wrong this end? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks Pam. |

What format are you sending the document in i.e. jpeg, tiff, bmp etc. If you are sending as tiff then they can open it in paint, windows viewer wont recognise it. |

Also tell them to try to open the images in paint, it opens most image files. They can also resave the document in there to Jpeg or bmp, which windows viewer will open. |

Don't know all the in's & out's about computers but the reason they may not be able to read the documents is that their computer doesn't have the programme. This happens to me on my works computer. People will send an e.mail with an attachment in Powerpoint format, but when I open the file it is all jibberish this is because I don't have the Powerpoint programme on my computer. May not be the right answer but its what happens to me. |

Thanks for replies. I am pretty sure they are sent as jpeg. Wonder if possibly problem is other end. Even when I sent a document in big manuscript it came through the other end 'fuzzy'. Will try rescanning and re sending again. Thanks for advice. Pam. |

Janet, I didn't have powerpoint but you can download for free a powerpoint programme that enables you to view some documents. Pam. |
