Finding adopted siblings?

Tracing real siblings ie when they themselves are adopted is a major task (ive been at it since 1999 and just starting to get warm in my search) do you know thier adopted name? where they were adopted and place of adoption? or the real name dob parents surnames? I went to London as Nottingham registers simply would not give me the information that I wanted. I was lucky that dad knew his real parents surnames (he got his dads first name wrong as he told me the name everyone called him not his actual real name lol) I also knew where he was born and the date and it took me 2 hours to search through the index books to find his birth. I then went to the Adoption section and eventually found that too and ordered the 2 certificates, there and then think it took a couple of weeks for them to come. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I had to quit then :( and have recently re started my search for my real grandparents (dads adopted parents were apparently not that nice to dad :( ) aunts and uncles. It has been very hard i often sit up till 6am which did pay off as I found all his siblings grandads death and nanna's remarriage im stuck again now tho and often get confused as i have so little to go on. But im going to persevere in my search and wish you the best of luck in doing the same. I must say tho its a lot easier now these records are on the internet saves me loads of time going down to London. Luv Angie xxxxxx |

For an explanation of what you may be able to do and how it can be achieved visit www.adoptionsearchreunion.org It explains the law change at the start of this year and who is able to apply for assistance. Glen |
