I think my best choice is to leave things alone if Mrs Bloggs has told her daughter/son about her/his dad then if it was Mr Bloggs then s/he would contact him if s/he wanted to. Sorry if that is a little confusing. I've just looked at it as if i was in her/his shoes i wouldn't like it someone prying in my life. Many thanks Jennie |

You don't KNOW that Mr Bloggs is the father of this supposed child, or whether the child has any idea s/he has other family. I'd be very cautious. What would you do if you found out that her mother was the ex-Mrs Bloggs? |

Hi Carol yes if there is a child involved it would be my hiusbands half sister. His dad doesn't ever talk about his ex wife as she treated him really badly, so would prefer not to go down that route even though he knows that we are researching the family tree, he has no objections to us doing it on his side. Tread very carefully. Are they related to you? |

Hi i am wonderering what you would do in this situation. I won't use real names as they are still alive but will use the real places. Mr Bloggs married a Miss Clown they lived in Grantham they split up about 1980 and we had reason to believe that she could of been pregnant. There is no sign of a birth in Grantham matching these 2 names not even the mothers maiden name but there is a birth in Somerset with a Mr Bloggs and Mrs Bloggs nee Clown as parents. We are unsure whether she moved away as Mr Bloggs never had anything to do with her from the day they parted. Do you think i should order the certificate or should i leave it and just call it a coincidence. Many thanks Jennie |
