Bridget grady was sent from dublin to tasmania onboard the ship maria, she arrived in 1849. I really want to know what she did to earn that sentence. So far her soon to be husband Robert (he married her after his realease) was transported for stealing a chickenhe got 10 years. his brother Thomas kiff got transported for 10 years for stealing money. I also saw 1 that got trasnported for life for stealing a cow, so does anyone know how i can find out her crime? Thanks

Hi Sticky Fingers. Where did your female relative commit the crime? If the crime was commited in her home county then you need to contact the local record office and ask if they have any quarter sessions records. She should be listed in those if her crime was relatively minor. Cheers, Horatia
