Has anybody tried to find someone through the Salvation Army and has it been successfull or a disaster Cheers Dawn

Yes I have they found my cousin who we had lost contract with.He was in Ireland.And it was before my mother died,and as he lived with us for a while when young.It made my mother very happy.We still write and send Christmas cards.And have sent what I have found out with his side of the family.My boss is in the Sally Army ,she got me the address. If I remeber they do ask for a donation. Good luck Daphne

Thanks Daphne, i have the form but just needed a bit of reassurance as the family i have lost touch with live in NZ and i have tried so many other ways and failed to find them Dawn

Dawn his brother was in New Zealand .We did know he and his family had gone there.We were able to get to know him again too.And I know there is Army there. My mother was so pleased to know of them again before she died.Their mother and father my uncle died young.So their grandmother and my father and mother bourght them up.But one at a time ,2 boys were a handfull.It is sad when you lose touch.They were both at my wedding 36 yrs ago.Brain the one they found was married again.Some one on here found his daug and family.But cannot find what happen to is son. Hope you have good news one day Daphne

Thanks Daphne and Mandy, i really hope i have as much luck as you Daphne, my mam and dad split up when i was two years old and through this site i have found a son my dad had after me and an Aunt who was my dads half sister this is the missing link in the chain and we are all hoping for a breakthrough so we can all be in contact again
