Do you remember searching for a unusual name the other day, and you found her birth and marriage and census for me, well I have found a relative of her Brother Henry registered on here , and been in touch with her .How about that must be the quickest contact ever

I am amazed if anything she wasnt sure we were related as she didnt know about her, but I did a bit of research last night and they have the same parents and the Father has the same occupation.I am hoping to find out more about them later today. They are a family I dont have a lot of contacts for.

Flower, you dont need to wait for hotmatches, just enter the name in a tree search.

Heather I am finding to my cost that the more unusual names are actually harder to research , I never though I would rather have a Miller. If you ever need any help please ask , not that I am as good as you lot yet, but would love to try

Valerie I couldn't forget your Goozee/Goozers could I?! I have rare - Chowns, Mealing - names in my tree, and common ones - Gray, Williams, Matthews, plus others in between. I think that both kinds have advantages and disadvantages. Some Chowns have been easy to trace, others virtually impossible. The same applies to the common names. If there was total consistency in recording the names and in them remembering when and where they were born, it would be a lot easier, but maybe not so satisfying! nell
