Some spamming systems automatically generate millions of potential e-mail addresses, then send out a ''test'' email to each address. If this mail doesn't ''bounce'', then the system knows that the address must be a valid email account. Bingo - your email address goes on a spamming list. Sad but there's not much you can do about it, other than use a spam filter, etc. Richard |

Maybe it is our missing rellies trying to make contact. lol Sam, you will need to speak LOUDER! I am beginning to suspect they originate in a different time zone from downunder, most are in our inbox when I fire up the puter in the morning. We have Nortons with spyware and there is also an antivirus and antispam thingy on our provider and they get past all of that. Christine in NZ |

I've had a speight of them as well. No name, address or message. I just delete them. They seem to arrive in clumps like this and then you don't get any for months. Viv |

There is no attachment, nothing, just the envelope. I don't know anyone in remote parts of the world who would be sending me a dozen emails per day. So as far as I know, nobody in China for me! Just deleted the 12th for today and it is still only 9am in NZ! Christine |

I sometimes have problems with Outlook Express if the email is large and everything displays as blank - no message, subject line, from field, etc. Rose |

You sometimes get blank emails from overseas, places like China - I dont know why, it must be to do with incompatible systems. I know it drove me crazy when one of my sons was out there and I was desperate to hear from him and all Id get was a blank email. |

I get these occasionally too. Do yours have an attachment? Mine do, but I never investigate, just delete them. I think perhaps it is intended to make people curious so that they do open the attachments. Can only think they are trying to find email addresses to sell to spammers, and somehow opening the attchments confirms they have found one? Any experts on security able to advise please? Update, I am in the UK. |

Every now and again we get an email which has no subject or sender, and there is also no message. However over the past couple of days we have been getting 10 or 12 a day. Anyone have any idea what these are? I just delete them and we have Nortons so I am not too worried about them being viruses, just interested in what they might be. Christine in NZ |
