as long as each file / tree have a different name you can save as many files/ trees as you like on 1 disk until that disk is full names could be as simple as tree1, tree2, tree3 etc

I would have thought if you have separate names for each file then the back up would go over the one with the same name? I use a CDRW for my FTM back ups and I bung it in and rewrite it every week or so when I add new info. However, Judy in the States - the pc oracle - says that you should use new cds now and then as they can get worn.

hi I want to back up 3 seperate Trees on one Disc one at a time. Would that overwrite each other then????

If you using CD-RW you should be able to save to it like you would a floppy disk. I would only overwrite if you back up 2 files with the same name.

If I back up on a Disc and then you want to back up something else and you put the same Disc in ,does it go over the stuff you already have or does it go to the end of your back ups and add them there thanks
