I have noticed that a couple of you are being kicked out of your broadband connections. This was happening to me before I discovered the reason. When you are on line select settings at the top. Then select internet options. Then connections Once in connections select settings. Then select advanced. This will show you the dial up settings, mine was ticked at disconnect if idle for more than 20 minutes!!! Make sure that the box is UNTICKED or you will be booted off the internet!!!! Hope this is clear |

Think a few people including Heather have had probs this week, I haven't funnily enough, this problem was a while ago, but I thought others may have the same experience and not know how to sort it out. I am quite lucky I used to be a computer operator so know fair bit about them, makes up for the lack of knowledge when it comes to the genealogy!!!! |

Can you explain in words of one syllable again, pls? I am constantly being disconnected (didn't happen before I signed up for broadband). What 'settings at top'? Appreciate any advice. Many thanks. Wendy |

Many thanks - have followed sequence as advised but not why I was being disconnected every couple of minutes - I usually give up after 20 such events and play Spider Solitaire until my bad temper has passed. Of course today it hasn't been happening. |
