You can put right the home page easy, launch Internet Explorer, go to tools, internet options, general tab, type in the web address of the homepage you want to use, click apply, job done. Your e-mail attachments is also simple, open your e-mail, go to Tools, Options, Security, take the tick out of the box that says, 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus, clck apply, job done. Hello Ron, since I dont know what TrayApp means I cant insert cdrom. I havnt got one labled as such. However I put in the HD cd, ran it and TrayApp has disappeared. But...... I have lost the home page on AOL and cannot send saved photos via email. I think I have made a complete b***s up of everything. How do I uninstall this HD thing and keep my ISP? I wish I`d never bought the new printer in the first place. Regards Sylvia. |

Sylvia. If you insert the CD Rom when it asks for it and it does not cure the problem there are a couple of options that I would try. 1. Uninstall the all in one completely and then reinstall it. If that doesn't sort out the problem then you can dissable the Tray App from starting up in the first place. 2. Go to Start, Run and type MSCONFIG click OK. Go to the Start Up tab and see if Tray App is listed. You can take the tick out of it to prevent it running at Start Up, if this process causes problems you can always put the tick back in again. You will have to restart your PC after removing the tick out of the box. Thank you fuzzy, I think I see what the problem is now. My old printer was an HP all-in-one. For some reason when I uninstalled it it also removed my ISP!! so I had to reinstall. So now I have 2 printers installed, although HP is disconnected. Any idea how to uninstall without losing ISP connection? Many thanks Sylvia. |

Hi,Ron. Only one cdrom came with the package, this is 'Installasion software and users guide for Windows and Macintosh' which I have used. It did say in the installation notes that there were two cds, one for windows and one for Mac. but there was only the one cd in the box. I am on Windows XP. Is this what the problem is. I have tested the printer and it works ok. Sylvia..Ps what does TrayApp mean? |

Found this hope it helps. One of the problems that has come up several times in the forums is this: you turn on your PC and an installation program starts up and asks for a file called trayapp.msi - but it can't find the file no matter what you do. So you have to cancel out of the installation program. Every time you restart Windows, the same box comes up, and it is quite annoying! This problem is related to the HP Imaging software that came with an HP product. It might be a scanner, printer, camera, or a multi-function printer. Sometimes the software gets screwed up so that it asks for this photogallery.msi file. One fix that has been discovered for this problem is to place the CD that came with your HP product into the CD-ROM drive before you turn on your PC. When you turn it on, and Windows starts up, the installation program should recognize the CD and automatically find the trayapp.msi file, and the problem will be solved. If it does not find it automatically, navigate to the folder on the CD called TrayApp. There, you will find the elusive TrayApp.msi file. Click on that, hit OK and the Imaging Monitor should extract the trayapp automatically. One reader has told us that he found the file on the CD in \Setup\trayapp\trayapp.msi If this doesn't work, we recommend that you visit HP's support web site and download the latest drivers and imaging software for your product. Then, proceed to uninstall your HP software, reboot, and reinstall it using the files you downloaded. Another user has reported that 'the problem disappears when HP ImageZone (mine was v. 3.5) is uninstalled. Then, a 'Minimal' installation of the HP printer software (mine was a Photosmart 8450) will run without causing the problem. |

Hi Sylvia, It is asking you to insert the disk for a reason, if I were you I would insert it and see what it asks you to do from there. i have a hunch that Ron could be right, you probably need to configure the fax part of the machine. x |

This is just a guess but the Fax part of the installation may need configuring, when you start up the connection becomes live and is trying to connect to the phone line ????? Have you inserted the CD Rom like it asked for. Ron www.genealogyprinters*com |

I have just installed a new all-in-one printer/scanner/fax. Since then, every time I sign on something called TrayApp appears and tells me to insert cdrom. I have no idea what this is and cant make it go away.Even when clicking cancel it wont go and wont let me sign off as it just sits there. It has parked itself on list on the bottom line next to AOL and Windows messenger. Anyone know what it is and how to make it vanish? Many thanks for any help. Sylvia. |
