Thanks Yvonne, The time difference between Oz and UK proves to be a bit of a problem with replies, but I do check back. I didn't know Henry was married previously, but looking at it, it doesn't surprise me. It just adds another dodgy link in this family. I despair of my children's lives sometimes, but i don't think they were anywhere near this lot. What they couldn't hide, they exported here. It was a family of solicitors, doctors, merchants, etc. So all were able to pay their way out of anything. And did!! But they are interesting. |

That tells a story, doesn't it? Elizabeth Ariel married her husband within a year of the death of his first wife and child. |

Hi Annie, I posted that message. I put the story of Myles up here yesterday. Funnily enough, it's only since I restarted the Ariels, I thought about this. It's always been the story that he just 'went missing'. He must have died or been declared dead for his wife to remarry. By the way, it's Myles born 1819 we are talking about. He's the one who married Emily Weaver. I did find a small snippet about his uncle Thomas Ransford being 'insolvent'. But I don't know why Myles even came here. It seems something was happening. Myles' sister married a solictor Henry Farr and lived in Wales,so thought there would be a report somewhere. |

Not an old newspaper but I found this marriage in Weston. 1868 Apr 23 Myles Ariel Clark 25 b. Attorney at Law of Trinity to Mary Anne Elizabeth Rockett 24 s. of Trinity. F. Edward Clark, Gent and Hugh Rockett, Magistrate for this County. I think if you ask someone here will look up the times archive for you. I really want to know what happened to Miles now. Did you post the message looking for Myles Ariel on curious fox or is it someone else researching the same family? |

You won't find old newspapers on the internet, except in patches. You'd need to contact the relevant library service or records office. nell |

I'm looking for any newspaper around the mid to late 1850s. Just after Myles Ariel came to Australia with his family in 1853, he went missing??? His wife remarried in 1863, but I can't find any death or report. I've tried Archives, etc. |
