I remember the Lifeboat before they knocked it down it was a lovely old pub we used to go there every saturday for a drink as one of my friends lived next door, on bombfire night we all used to pile into her house to watch the firework display on the beach then get the kids to bed and pop next door for a pint (or two) oh the memories!! Now its a silly block of flats that are too expensive for anyone to buy unless you have about a quarter of a million sitting in the bank doing nothing. Spoilt the whole street if you ask me. Progress Huh!! sue c x |

Hi Kat - that is disappointing. My great great grandad used to run the Life Boat in the 1880s and I was going to come over and have a look at it. Thanks for the info anyway - at least you've saved me a wasted journey. Victoria. |

Unfortunately the Life Boat Hotel was demolished about 4 years ago and has been replaced by a block of expensive flats. this used to be one of our old hunting grounds!! remember the first 'discos' ? all ultra violet lights and dandruff, those were the days....... Kat |

Hi. Can anyone who knows Cleethorpes tell me if Sea Bank Road still exists and if so, whether it is anywhere near Kingsway? I am trying to work out whether the Lifeboat Hotel on Kingsway would be the same as the Life Boat Inn on Sea Bank Road where my ancestors were in 1881. Thanks, Victoria. |
