Hi Elizabeth That's brilliant, thank you so much. It's not very clear on there is it? I was expecting it to be a bit like on here, where it's quite clear how to add, edit or delete a message. Thanks again, Mandy :) PS - update - have just gone in via Ancestry and found the messages. I didn't think I'd remembered putting them on Rootsweb, so I must have put them on Ancestry and then they automatically got duplicated onto Rootsweb. Starting to make sense now lol! |

Mandy, If you put messages on Ancestry will are automatically put onto Rootsweb, however, I do not know if it applies the other way around. I have just been into Rootsweb and found the answer for you. 1. Got to Rootsweb, go to help on the top left hand side. 2. Once in Help scroll down to Message Boards. Click 3. Once on this page it will read Message Boards. Go to the first paragrpah Help FAQs/Help/Tutorial/FAQ Click on Help FAQs. Go then to paragraph 10 and read what it says. It is 'How do I report abuse?'. Read the LAST paragraph it states: 'To use the 'Report Abuse' link, you must be logged in as a registered user. This box also can be used by an author to request that his or her own post(s) be removed' This message is also appropriate for messages on Ancestry, the Help boards states the same thing, that you need to go to Abuse and report that you want your own messages removed. Hope this is of some help to you. Elizabeth |

Hi Annie It's really weird, because I seem to be the only one who HAS posted on the boards, but HASN'T received that email!! So am I right in thinking that to get 'into' Rootsweb, I use my Ancestry login? I just want to get these messages deleted for the moment. Thanks, Mandy :) |

If you look for the thread phishing E.mail you will find that all ancestry subscribers have been sent an E.mail saying they are changing rootsweb and ancestry message boards to include E.mails. I think you will have to contact them to protest. |

I’m still a bit fuzzy-brained today following a migraine, so please forgive me if I’m either asking a really stupid question or not explaining myself very well! A few months back, I posted three messages on the Rootsweb boards, one for each of the main names in my trees. I’m pretty certain I didn’t log in to do so. I was horrified to discover that when you go to my messages, you only have to click on my name to see my email address! I definitely don’t want it showing, but I can’t seem to find a way to delete my messages (not too bothered about actually having them on there). Can anyone tell me how to remove my messages please? Many thanks, Mandy :) |
