Help please with Ship that went down in Cape Horn

I dont know the name of the ship but it was a clipper ship. And the captain was William Wyatt. Are there any site that I might find out about it? Thanks for any help on this Marion

I also read that having ears pierced was supposed to improve your eyesight! Good if you were a lookout on a ship. There are some other stories about sailors having their hair in a pigtail, but I've forgotten! Merry

Merry and Trish That's intersting. I wonder if Captain Wyatt I am looking for wore one. As far as I know he went back and forward on a Clipper ship. Marion

If he died at sea there will be a record of his effects or wages due. The index is BT153 and the record BT154. They are available at Kew and the ship will also be named. If you can then narrow the timescale down to help with the search. Good luck, Christine

Thanks Christine How would I go about that ? His daughter Hester was born on a ship 1870 don't know which one though. I think it went down bewtwen 1870-80. I have never looked for anything like this before so it's all new to me. Thanks again Marion
