Have spent hours and hours searching for someone with no luck. Then, out of curiousity, searched for someone I know was born in 1953 on Ancestry. No one of that name in the quarter. So, searched on 1837 as I have credits left and there they were. How very frustrating. I have paid for Ancestry but how reliable are they? Has anyone else come across this problem. Pam.

Hi Pam I have found this happens when there is a hand written entry on the bottom of the page, try looking on the page before the one you want and then at the top of the page use the go to next page box. Pauline

Thank you both. I have tried everything possible. I have searched from 1920 for a marriage of Marian Almina Watson to anyone! Have only found 2 Marion A's. One in Epsom which is possible and one in Lambeth which is also possible. My Marian, I think is Marian, these two are listed as Marion! Followed the first who married a Hill. Searched for children (for hours). Found one in Barnstaple and one in Gainsbro. Still no nearer finding out if correct person as have limited knowledge. Think I should give up but don't want to. So frustrating. Will keep going I think. Thanks for replies. Pam.

Your post is confusing ? If you give me the one you found on 1837, Name, year, and quater, and if it is a birth, marriage or death, i will check ancestry to find out what the problem is. some times it's just a problem with the search engine on ancestry, so you may have to try a different way of searching Roy
