Gtgrandad Thomas Pope b.1850 married Jane Newsham 10/10/1875 Hammersmith The previous year 4/7/1874 they had a daughter. Marriage cert. states, he is 25,bachelor. She is 22 spinster,father William Newsham,Ropemaker. She dies 6/8/1878 age 22!! informant husband. They never appear on a census together. I dont know where she was born or even what year. Marriage cert was supposed to make everything clear. Not a chance. Did they deliberately try to confuse us? Any help tracking this woman down much appreciated. Sylvia. |

Thank you very much for that info Zoe, You are a miracle worker. So hubby was wrong with age on death cert. I suppose the poor bloke was heartbroken at the time and didnt know what he was saying. Hopefully I can now track down her birth. Thank you again Sylvia. |
