Shared trees - Is there a way?

It is no big deal as far as I can see. I'm more concerned about who can see my tree, not the other way around. If someone wants to give me access then I don't have a problem.

Generally, after determining there isn't a mutual interest I delete the contact, but as said, this also deletes all messages too, which on occasion you may not want to do.

Incidentally GR's preference is for members to share trees, not the other way around, hence the default the way it is.

I think it would be helpful if GR didn't tick the box to share your tree in the section where you can contact someone. It is under the box where you type your msg and at first I did not notice it. Once I realised it I went to my contacts and removed their access to my tree unless I wanted them to have it.
GR should have the box for you to tick if you want to share -- NOT the other way around, where you have to untick it.

Mary, GR is Genes Reunited, and you can contact them through the 'help' button on the dark green bar above.

satnav, the 'shared trees' area is the drop down list you get above your own tree, where you can view other trees you have access to.

Can anyone tell me where "shared trees area" is as I cannot find it.

Mary,

If the persons are dead, then there isn't much that you can do. If they are still alive, give him, say one week to delete them or you will report him to GR for breach of the site rules. If he does not comply, send GR a message with the names concerned and they will remove them from his tree.

How you get rid of a serial nuisance who isn't related but copies my relatives on his tree??? I've asked him to leave me alone after he was very rude in a message. Now he's added my dad, my mum, half sister & brothers & anyone I add....who aren't even blood related to each other.
Thanks
Mary

Just completely wipe out the contact in My Contacts section. If you aren't related to the person there is no need to keep their contacts or their tree. Cheers, Horatia Far too many people on here make their tree available to people who HAVEN'T ASKED to see it - bloomin nuisance!

Kate's way works but you lose all you contact list with that person - just tried with a contact who was not related but I had acces to the tree.

I think if you go into 'My Contacts' and delete that person then they should disappear from Shared Trees, but I haven't got a suitable contact to try it out on to check! Kate.

to stop GR trees that aren't related to you from showing in your Shared trees area?
