Have you found William and/or Jane on the 1901 census - are they married then? Sam x

Where are you looking? Have you checked if this couple are married or single on 1901 census?

I cant seem to get on 1901 at the moment. Have tried Freebmd.

Freebmd isn't complete, so you'd need to check all the GRO indexes, which are on Ancestry or 1837online, or available on microfiche at various libraries/archives.

Oops, sorry, I forgot this thread!! It was worth a try, but the people living at that address in 1901 were called Kelly, Murray and Snowdon (three families) Do you know anything else about your grandfather? Did he have any brothers and sisters? If you know that he did, do you know any of their names and if he was oldest/youngest etc? Merry

hiya, i think this is a case of trawling the complete images on ancestry q by quarter, to see if there are any other siblings born after 1904, although after 1911 i do think it is the mothers maiden name will be on the ref, failing that its again searching complete index 1904 backwards to see if you can find a marriage that way, maybe someone can do a search on familyrelatives?? there is a thread, either on here or on records julie
