Hi i have been looking for deaths in my family tree and have been looking up my grandad who died roughly about 1988. I can't find anyone around that time he died in Boston Lincolnshire, could the records not be updated this much? Thanks Jennie

He should be on Ancestry - where is Stoddlethorpe? The only Morris Whitehead I can see, one has the first name of Dudley and dies in Huddersfield and one is Rowland Morris Whitehead and died in Halifax. Neither were born in 1923. Sam x

hiya, what was you using to find him??? i just used ancestry, put in name DOB and lincs, first one i hit on (easy peasy for them who know) Julie

If you put in 'Morris' it won't find 'Maurice'!

i went to ancestry and put in his name and dob and it brought up Dudley Morris Whitehead and Rowland Morris Whitehead. Am i doing something wrong as you replied fast and as you said you found it easily. Thanks Jennie

hiya, the way you spelt it was the name of a car, the male form is spelt maurice, try it again, with male spelling i'll bet you get it first time, happy hunting Julie

I did find it straight away thank you so much. I must remember in future to try different ways of spelling names. This may help me along the way. Thanks very much Jennie

hiya, is always best to try all ways, sometimes you can search withouta first name, as long as you have a dob and surname and place you can get lucky sometimes, and if all else fails you can always ask for someone to help you look, like you just did, you learn all the time, is all part of the hunt for those elusive rellies LOL Julie just tried search on grandad without his first name, it does come up, but a few down page, Julie :)
