Thanks for all your input, just got back to the computer after a day at work! Carol, thanks for your note, I've sent you my addy, Judy, thanks for that info again, I did write to the social security people about his record. It seems they want to be paid by cheque, in US dollars. I'm only used to dealing with credit cards! and they are only dealing with requests from within the US. They have sent me details of who to write to in England. But as I have made contact with a man in US Lawrence who has uncle Louis in his tree (only as a second marriage) He has already sent for it, and says he will let me have a copy, so I'm holding fire on that for the mo. Jim, I'm just off to give your link a try. And Rose thanks so much for your input. Suex

I have found 3 newspaper articles for Iowa 2 mention he's wife and daughter (Kay) going to visit Sioux Falls for Mrs Malloy's fathers funeral. another mentions a violin reciatal and mention the teacher being Louis Malloy. If you can give me your email address I will try to send them on to you. Carol

Rose, Is the from One world tree? you found him for me on there in my first hunting for him. Someone else noticed it was on Rootsweb, and I am in touch with the 'owner' of this tree, Lawrence Carroll. He is getting hold of Louis' Social Security card. But Louis is only a little branch on his tree, not a major trunk! I'm sure this is the right man. just wish I could find out what he did with his life. Suex

No, it doesn't mention the Uni, but I have found there are 2 Universities in Iowa, Haven't found anything on their websites. I was thinking I would have to write to them both. Suex

Some people might remember a thread of mine a couple of weeks ago, about Louis Molloy b1893 in UK went to USA and was presumed dead, as he had disappeared without a trace. Kind people on here managed to find him for me on various census' proving he was alive and well, married (x2) with at least one daughter and died in 1970's having broken his mothers heart. I have since found, what I think is him in a newspaper of the area he was living in (Iowa), referring to Prof. Louis Molloy. A professor of music (violin) which fits. If this really is him it really is a case of 'Boy from East London slums making good' My question is, How can I find out about Prof Louis Molloy? any bright ideas? Suex
