Does anyone know how I can get some info on a marriage in 1815? I have Myles Ariel married 12-9-1815 St. Johns. Wakefield, Yorkshire. He married Elizabeth Naylor. Would Elizabeth’s parents be on the parish records? Myles parents are William Ariel and Elizabeth Kirkby. Any way of finding where or when they were born? Myles and his wife had their first child in Bristol, so not sure why he was in Yorkshire as I have Ariels in Bristol back in 1745. Is there any way of accessing them from Australia? Thanks.

Hi Elizabeth, Unfortunately, bride's father's name would not be listed in the marriage register at this time. Have looked on the list of Dade registers, which DID include additional info, but the system was not adopted in this parish. Jay

Thanks, Unfortunately, I think Naylor was the most popular name in Wakefield at the time.

Hi Annie, If you can work this out you are better than me. Wouldn't be hard at the moment. It's nearly 11pm. and I just had to slip out to the kitchen and ice a 'very hungry catterpillar' cake for 3year lod grandson to take to kindy tomorrow. Here goes. William Ariel from Bristol married Elizabeth Kirkby. They had a son Myles who married Elizabeth Naylor in Wakefield. Yorks. They had a son Myles Kirkby Ariel who married Emily Weaver, back in Bristol. All I can say is the Naylor bird had to be good to go that far to marry.

Sorry Annie, I forgot, the second Myles had a son Myles Kirby Eyre Ariel. That's the baby in that 1851 census.
