If anyone has come across this have they any idea what it means please. So those who can can look themselves. I am looking at Deaths Jan Feb Mar 1906. Boylen Catherine Ann Tynemouth 10b 173 this is then bracketed to the line below B. E. H. 52 In all the time I have been searching I have never come across this before. Many thanks Pmaid.

I can't find the entry. Is it definitely 1906? Are you looking on Ancestry? Kath. x

It looks to me as if she has more names, i.e. Catherine Ann B. E. H. Boylen, age 52. They just couldn't get it on one line (I think) Kath. x

Would they have shown that on her marriage certificate though? I have the cert and she is shown as simply Catherine Ann. Her maiden name was Hunter though.

Bit of a long shot - but is it anything to do with the person who registered the death - (just going on it starts with B!) Elly

Not really sure Pmaid, I suppose only buying the certificate will tell you. It is all down to who is giving the information I suppose and how exact they are. Can't think of another explanation for it. Would 52 be about the right age for her death in 1903? Kath. x

I think I may just have to bite the bullet and send for the cert. The age is about right. Her husband was Bernard and as yet I have not found his death, but on the same page just above Cathrine is one Bernard Boyle age about right slightly different district though. In 1901 they are living in Walker so I guess both places could be correct?

The FreeBMD transcriber has put B.E.H. as extra initials in her name. If these initials are not on her marriage certificate, it could be that it is a different person? Or she added some names after or when she got married. I do have one woman in my tree who has an extra middle name after her marriage but it was because her husband had a kind of double-barrelled surname; not sure why somebody would acquire three extra middle names! Anyway, looking at the image I would also say that they are the initials of more middle names. Kate.

Thankyou all. I am going to have to risk sending for it. I am actually looking for the death of her husband based on very helpful reply from Irish Family Research, or two of the daughters but I cannot track him down at he moment, or the marriage of the daughters never mind I will keep looking. Again thankyou for your input.

Hello, For future reference on ancestry.co.uk it is 1903 not 1906. Looking at the actual image B.E.H is her initials, they just don't fit on the line with the rest of the name. Please let us know if they are initials if you get the certificate. good luck Toni

Hi I had syncope on a death cert as well as other things on there that she died from

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 29 Jun 2006 11:52

Morbus cordis is heart disease, and syncope is any sudden fainting, so she probably collapsed with a heart attack. She certainly had a mouthful of a name didn't she? Kath. x
