That sounds like a lovely day Brenda and the weather must have been beautiful, especially in the evening when you were walking near the river. Beats giving Ralph a bath and then moving some paving slabs, eh!

So pleased for you. Did anybody faint at the Globe? Christina

Hi Heather It certainly took the sting out of not finding what I was supposed to be looking for, though it was part of a brilliant day: a whole day in the archives, supper at my favourite restaurant, then Coriolanus at the Globe. Walking back to London Bridge beside the Thames, past the Clink, the little sailing ship in its dry dock, and Southwark Cathedral is a treat in itself.

Yes you're right Phoenix. And sometimes, trying to find an elusive relative for someone else and thinking laterally, it occurs to me 'perhaps that;s what MY William/John/Thomas/Mary/Sarah/Elizabeth was doing!' Still can't find my blinky Broad brothers though. nell

I was at London Metropolitan Archives yesterday. With very few London ancestors, I was doing some look ups. In an obscure Marylebone parish I've found one of my Skillings! Had I been looking, I'd never found her.
