I have just successfully scanned, saved and sent 10 photos. For the life of me, I cannot get back to the bit which has saved my photos -I've tried scanning another, but the screen just closes when I finish scanning. Olde Crone

What folder did you save the pics to Crone? Have you checked your photo file? Carol

When you save a file , there's two box's one askes what file type, there's a drop down list as to whether you want to save it as jpeg, bitmap etc. Then the other box asks where you want to save it to as in 'my pictures'. Can you remember where you asked it to be saved? I'm not too great with this scanner lark either but hope I can help. Did you check 'my pictures' file? Carol

Hi O.C. Click on your Start button Choose the 'Find' or 'Search' option Files or folders (if you've got XP it will give you choice for pictures) Where it says 'all or part of the file name' enter **.jpg and search It will bring up every file with a jpg extension, including your pictures ( I hope). Good luck. Regards, Carol

OC. You could do a search for your photo's. Click on Start, then click on SEARCH.then click on FILES AND FOLDERS,click for Pictures.you can put in the name you gave the photo's and click Search. Photo's should come up. Hope this helps. Sue

Right, I have found them in My Documents! I then tried to send one as an email, went through all the performance and the message failed because of Outgoing server error portal 15!?!? I will try altering the save to destination and see what happens -its set to JPEG as default. If that fails, I'm going to bed and then going to read the manual again tomorrow! Thanks for all your help, night night. Olde Crone

Problems like this I always look in recent documents or files - should tell you what you have just done.

Old Crone, I had just the same problem. Bought this super dooper all in one printer/copy/scanner. Scanned something, brilliant, Ive done it. Then I sat there thinking erm, Ive scanned it but where is it. My son ended up doing a new file with My Scans on it so now if I scan something when it asks where do you want it saved I click on that. (Dont you just hate the smug 'Come along mother, I'll take you back to the Home soon' look kids have when they are showing you something so simple for them).

Well this new computer is SOOOO clever! I went to bed in a huff and when I switched on this morning the screen was displaying a message saying 'Did you want to connect to HP Image Express? Press here AND JOIN UP' Oooh, it must have been watching me faffing about and it was laughing too much to tell me last night. I must have managed to access it as a freebie taster yesterday - it now says I need a password and user ID 'which came with your device' (oh yeah???). Heather - I am much happier, because my lordly, techie brother, who has an identical and new computer/scanner/singing dancing thingy, has emailed me this morning to say rather sheepishly that he cannot find the scans I successfully emailed him yesterday! LOL! Olde Crone
