Halton Hall in Essex............. I have a possible rellie who was born there in 1745 and married there in 1766.. ( I feel a connection with the landed gentry coming on ). I have googled it and searched the Essex Archives Online site, but to no avail. I would be grateful for any information about this elusive abode ( and there could be a share of the spoils for anyone with information leading to the restoration of my rightful inheritance ). K |

Found this in Buckinghamshire Its not beyond the realms of possibility that boudaries could have changed over the years Halton House is a country house situated in the Chiltern Hills above the village of Halton in Buckinghamshire, England. It is currently used as the main Officers' Mess for RAF Halton. |

If noone here knows, email Essex County Library Service - theyll tell you one way or the other, and, if it exists, may be able to tell you more... Good Luck! Jacquie |

Found this site which is for celebration cakes. It says the pictures were taken at Halton Hall, Halton, Nr. Wendover, Bucks. http://www.traceyscakes(.)co.uk/pages/chocolate/latest_designs.htm remove brackets. It must still exist. Kath. x |

Ladies............. my greatest thanks for your replies. Buckinghamshire is worth looking at as a longshot ( we all know how locations get distorted over the years ). So is a possible misspelling. And yes I shall try the Essex RO and/or library. I hope to get there one day within the next two weeks , and I hope to have time to do some look ups if anyone needs one. I'll post something when I know I am going. In the meantime, if anyone stumbles across anything...................... then my offer still holds good. ;) K |

Hello Keith, there are a few references on The Times online, to a Hutton Hall in Essex, says it's 3 miles from Brentwood. In 1818 living there was the Forbes family. Not sure if this helps!. Chris :) |
