It is worth taking advantage of the free 14 days ancestry trial. After that it is about £12 a month or £60 a year for UK membership. |

yes i gree with heather it does seem strange that they are starting with 1841. it is really going to be awkward working back the wrong way unless you have all your rellies up to 1841 love linda x |

Hi Everyone, I was notified that the Scottish 1841 census was on Ancestry although I have not joined because all my rellies are either in Scotland or Ireland. Can anyone tell me how much it is to join Ancestry because if they do get more Scottish census it could maybe work out cheaper than Scotlands People. Betty |

Understand Woody - I have spent a lot too, and haven't gone all that far back!! - trouble is Crawford is a popular name, 1841 is too far back for me.....I am still trying to verify great-grands who were miners, and lived where there was work. They say we're British, but why then don't we all come under one census. I also have to deal with N. Ireland, and now have a southern Irish g.g.granny....... PS I also had a lot of trouble getting onto the site, kept putting password in, and them not accepting it. I got fed up in the end and just deal with the English at the moment. |

That will be handy. I'm now on my second year of Ancestry but hardly use it as most of my tree is Scottish, so looking forward to saving a bit of cash. Reckon I have spent about £700 on Scotlandspeople in the last year. |

they already had added the 1841 census of Scotland (no images as yet). But they seem to say that more are on the way. See Below..... |
