On 1837online I went to the 'Soldiers died in the Great War' section, put in the name of a relative who had died at the Somme and selected his name from the list given (his birthplace was given which made him easy to find in the list). When his details came up on the screen there was an option to 'purchase scroll' (costs 50units) on the right hand side of the screen, also a link to see an example of a scroll. The scroll has a large Lion and unicorn coat of arms at the top, the following written in fancy writing: 'He whom this scroll commemorates was numberd among those who, at the call of King and Country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardship, faced danger, and finally passed out of the sight of men by the path of duty and self-sacrifice, giving up their own lives that others might live in freedom. Let those who come after see to it that his name be not forgotten.' then the soldiers name and details in ordinary type at the bottom. I quite like the idea of having a scroll which is like the ones sent out to families at the time, but actually think the commemorative certificates which you can print off the commonwealth graves website for free are nicer.
