I have read lots of bits about Irish research but am still a bit confused - can anyone help? I am trying to get a certificate for the marriage between John Hunt and Julia Mourin in 1860 in the Parish of St Peter, Dublin. I have printed off a request form from the GRO in Ireland, but am not sure if you can apply for a certificate by post if you do not know whether or not it was a Catholic marriage. It says on their website they hold 'Registers of all Marriages registered in the whole of Ireland from 1st April 1845 , to 31st December 1863 , except those celebrated by the Roman Catholic clergy'. Any help much appreciated. |
