I am obviously being thick here Karen as I don´t understand what you are talking about. You say you are on Ancestry web site - by this I presume you mean www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk Yes - or NO ??

Karen

Karen Report 9 Jun 2006 16:42

would you beleive it, just logged on and they are back, is there anyway i can save them or put them onto a cd as back up?

Elaine

Sorry Karen - see what you mean now. Personally don´t use the bookmark system so don´t know how to help. However, it would worry me slightly if this was the place where I kept all my family tree details. Do you not have a software programme (such as Family Tree Maker) where you record your details ?

Karen

no i dont, was thinking of getting it now my tree is getting bigger, can you save it on a disc? or the disc that comes with it

Elaine

Elaine Report 9 Jun 2006 16:55

Yes - you can back it up on to a disc. There are lots of threads about Family Tree Maker - put it into the search box and you will get quite a bit of information. Its a very versatile program - and the facts and data that you collect are then under your control, rather than on a website somewhere.
