Hi Maggie, he must be somewhere and when I find him, I'm gonna marry him myself, just so I have a marriage certificate for him (have to divorce OH first though!!). Best wishes Carol

Sounds like a charming chap! I am sure he must be related to my lot!! Unfortunately mine don't seem to have moved far from London, but I understand some were very fond of their wee dram and did not always marry in a timely manner (Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink!) Good luck with Evan...he's out there somewhere!!! Maggie

Merry, trying to give that a go as you suggest. Maggie, nightmare isn't it. He is driving me around the bend! He is a bad un as well. Apart from being a prisoner in 1861, I have 2 reports about him, 1 when he was fined 10 shillings for refusing to leave The Big Fiddle Inn public house and another where he was imprisoned for cutting a woman on the nose while she was at a Wake next door!! Lovely character don't you think - although I could learn to love him - IF I COULD ONLY FIND HIM!!!! Best wishes Carol x

I couldn't find them either :o(( I suppose it would be too difficult to isolate the birth record for the little boy on the 1861 census? Merry

Sorry Merry, got distracted!! Evan Edwards (has to be Welsh doesn't he!!). This is what I have on him so far. On 1861 census (naughty boy!!) New Bailey Prison, Salford: Evan Edwards, prisoner, married, 22, Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales. This could possibly be Ann with Evans parents in 1861, but again, not sure: 22 York Street, Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester. David Edwards, head, 48, married, comb maker, Wales Sarah Edwards, wife, 48, married, Carlisle, Cumbria Ann Edwards, daughter, unmarried, factory operative, born Manchester (this is not the one I think it is!) David Edwards, 15, son, painter, Manchester. Ann Edwards, daugher, married, 28, weaver, Ireland (this one) James Edwards, grandson, 3, Manchester. (if this Ann is the right one, think James must have died as he is not found anywhere else). On 1871 census: 5 Hutchinson Square, Trinity, Salford, Manchester. Evan Edwards, head, married, 36, Baker, Wales, Cardiff. Ann Edwards, wife, married, 36, Ireland, Dungannon (or Dunganmore). John Edwards, son, 7, scholar, Salford, Lancashire. Richard Edwards, son, 4, scholar, Salford, Lancashire. on 1881 census: 28 Gravel Lane, Greengate, Salford, Manchester. Evan Edward, married, lodger, 43, born Wales. Elizabeth Edwards, wife, 36, born Salford, Lancashire. Death Certificate of Ann Edwards: Birth Certificate of Richard Evans: 27th May 1865, Queen Street, Greengate, Salford. Richard, boy, father Evan Edwards, mother Ann Edwards, formerly Rafferty, father occupation, Bread Baker, X, the Mark of Ann Edwards, mother, 6 Queen Street, Salford. Death certificate of Ann Edwards, in 1872, aged 34 (I think, can't find this certificate at the minute!). Marriage certificate of John Edwards to Sarah Clarke, 1882, father Evan Edwards, baker. (this certificate must be with the other, can't find it!!). Death of Evan Edwards in 1887, aged 48, don't have this certificate yet, so not 100% sure this is him. Hope you have more luck than I do. Hope this makes sense to you!! Thanks and good luck, Carol !! NB:Luke is moaning for me to get off computer so he can go on Command and Conquer, so if I don't reply, it means I am not on, not being ignorant!! Will be back on when I can prise him off!! Carol
