I see someone called Glen has Joseph Chambers, b Lincoln 1806 on their tree - is that you, Glen? Joseph Chambers, b Lincoln c 1807 is on my brother-in-law's tree which I started doing for him recently. I haven't researched Joseph's Lincoln connections yet - his children were mostly born in Collingham, Notts. If you want to look at the tree, search for Joseph Chambers 1807 and click on the name Paul.

I'm getting fed up with this now!!!! Object of the exercise is to try and find out for sure who the parents of George abt 1842 are. 1885 wedding cert shows father as John Chambers, labourer. Groom age 42,labourer. 1861 Census shows place of birth as St Michael,Lincoln. Census details tie in with John as father, but nothing on the IGI to support this. I have seven birth refs from the index for 1841 to 1845,,there is only one in 1842 Q3 I can discount a couple due to parents on the IGI,(including the 1842 entry)but if i use fathres name as a check point how many will i need to think about. Exactly, where did Henry come from. In the 41 he is in the Christ's hospital, along with a chap called George Groby, who later went on to marry Eliza abt 1834. I think he died in 1854,as i can't find him beyond the 51,and have a ref for 1854. The kids match fairly well, but the big jump in the parents ages make me wonder. In the 41 John is 35 then in 51 he is down as 63!Maybe a transcription error but a huge leap. Glen

It will be easier to check with full family details.......... 1841 Ann Chambers abt 1811 Lincolnshire, England St Swithin Lincolnshire View Record Eliza Chambers abt 1834 Lincolnshire, England St Swithin Lincolnshire View Record John Chambers abt 1806 Lincolnshire, England St Swithin Lincolnshire View Record Joseph Chambers abt 1836 Lincolnshire, England St Swithin Lincolnshire View Record Louisa Chambers abt 1838 Lincolnshire, England St Swithin Lincolnshire View Record William Chambers abt 1826 Lincolnshire, England St Swithin Lincolnshire 1851 Ann is 'married' Ann Chambers abt 1801 Wragby, Lincolnshire, England Head Lincoln St Martin Lincolnshire View Record Charlotte Chambers abt 1848 Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England Daughter Lincoln St Martin Lincolnshire View Record Eliza Chambers abt 1834 Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England Daughter Lincoln St Martin Lincolnshire View Record Joseph Chambers abt 1837 Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England Son Lincoln St Martin Lincolnshire View Record William Chambers abt 1823 Minting, Lincolnshire, England Son Lincoln St Martin Lincolnshire William (c1823) makes the 1801 birth year look more likely...............unless she married very young! Also 1851 John aged 63 Henry 19 George 9 Louisa 11 Louisa matches, but where did Henry come from? Reg

Sorry Reggie it was a typo which i corrected just as you posted. The childrens names appear consistent, but the parents seem to age considerably from the 41 to the 51. George age 9 in the 51 is (i'm hoping) my g g/f,i'm trying to work back and see if the igi details fit with the census. Odd thing is though if the 1811 is correct for Ann,she would be too young for the first child. Glen
