Karen, I MAY have found her passing on in 2000. I will send you the notice, as it does contain family names (don't want to post that information here). The notice is a little confusing, so it may not even be regarding your Vera. PS When I copied the notice, I may have skipped the last word, which is 'Star'. This may have information about the 'Laydens'. http://ngb*chebucto*org/Stonepics/stonepics-ll (replace * with .) |

Hello, Thanks for that - will have a look. To be honest, I am not sure when she emigrated. I havent yet found out if any of the children were born in the UK or all in Canada. Sorry, I thought I had put the state - New Foundland. |

Hi You say the person in question was born 1921 but you don't say when they might have emmigrated. This site has record for 1925 - 1935 immigrants - hope it helps! http://www(.)collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/02011802_e.html remove brackets Barbara |

If you have any idea of an area, even a State might do, try looking up their tourist site - even some of the smallest places seem to have one - or any kind of Village/town news site. They often have a message board for local people and those who have moved away but want to be in touch. I had a nephew contact me after I had posted on a site in a small town that I knew the family used to have addresses at. It obviously helps if you have an unusual surname, but people over there seem much more interested in their neighbours and know things like where they came from in the 'old country', so even christian names with possible surnames, and maybe a mention of the rumour of large family - not that unusual, my aunts and uncles run into the twenties!! good luck Eileen |

Vera L Matticks born 1921 in Suffolk (registered in Mutford). I know that she emigrated to Canada, not sure if before or after she married (dont know husbands name as yet). It is rumoured that he had a vast number of children (18-19) - I believe a Fred was the youngest. |
