Thats nice, isnt it - google search picked up one of my most important and rare names and this lady in US (who has it added as her middle name - same as me) has contacted me from the site. Not a close link but a link nevertheless.

No, afraid not - she sounds like she was the child of a GI war marriage so she has no info whatsoever - but still, its nice to know the old surname is out there in the USA. Ive asked her to email me again with the definite facts she does have. I have any idea which line she is from and its such a rare name that everyone with it is related to me in some way. If you do your home website through FTM use your 'not-cold' email addy as a contact address as that does filter spam.

Oh Elisabeth, I really dont deserve any praise of that sort I rely on the real stars on here myself. And Val has become my head of IT lately. My fiver was for recommending the Family Tree Maker to Val!
