This family workshop is done through the Education Dept Adult Learning but they are only usually 5 week courses but I have found out that it is usual for people to carry it on. I have also found out if you get enough interest there is local funding that is available. Of course you have to find out where to get it. The librarian at Wombwell Library which is at Barnsley South Yorkshire has been very helpful. My advise to you is ask at your local library and see what information you can get. Christine |

Christine, are you involved with setting this up? Was just thinking I know the area manager for our counties library, well I know her mother anycase. Thinking I could pass the idea onto her, but she'll probably want to check it out. It would be great to have something like that here, down south. |

The Family History Workshop At Wombwell Library Barnsley South Yorkshire on Monday Afternoon 1pm til 3pm will run from Monday 12th June for 5 Weeks For this 5 weeks you will be able to get onto Pay sites such as Ancestry and 1837. Don't worry if you don't know how to use a computer or what to do next in your research, Help is available. After the 5 weeks is over, depending on the interest we get we are hoping to carry on with the workshop. If there is enough interest we have a good chance of getting funding. This will mean we can pay for subscriptions on the Pay sites such as Ancestry and 1837. So come and show your interest and at the same time get some help with your Family Research. Christine |
