Thanks for your replies. I was really just wondering if there were any web sites to look at that I didn't know about. I would rather not give out names etc as it is a bit delicate. thanks |

Give us his name and where you THINK he may have been born .... lets start at the beginning. Do you think he ever married ? If so, do you KNOW of any children he had ? when/where were they born ?? What makes you think he was born 1920 give or take a few years ? Give us everything you have got on him ..... Elaine ;-) If he was born, bred or died in Scotland then you need Scotlands People website ....... |

When you say 'search for a person ' are you looking for birth, marriage, death or to see if you can find them still alive today ?? We MAY be able to help with Birth and possibly marriage .......and we may be able to help find out if the person is still alive ........ but without an area to search we couldn't find where he lived today if he's still alive ? or if he died, we would need to know WHEN approx he might have died. Any chance he may have served and died in WW2 ?? Elaine ;-) |

census no good then. You will need to trawl Ancestry births - do you have mother's maiden name? |

that depends! if it is a unusual name you could be lucky and find them in the census - but what era are we talking? |

IS THERE ANY SITES YOU CAN SEARCH FOR A PERSON IF YOU HAVE JUST A NAME AND ROUGH IDEA OF DATE OF BIRTH. ? |
